Cheese...where?

I read this over a lunch last weekend,
Amazingly,I finished it in just one seating (nowadays its very hard to concentrate, maybe the age is a factor?). Its a simple yet profound insights on how people react to changes, be it in personal life or at work. I can identify myself really quickly as being a 'Hem'. (A subtle way to say I am a procrastinator!!)

For the past one week, I have been running in my own maze, with no proper planning and strategy, not quite aimlessly but could have been done better. The book is simple, to implement what it suggested is another question. Am not saying that I could not do it, but its a work in progress.
yes, published in 1998, I am 12 years behind ;p

Buena suerte!! ;)

Entry Rojak + Miracle Happens?

Malaysia got the first gold medal already!!! (or probably by now has added some more..)

I watched Magika last Sunday. Has always been a supporter to KRU bro's work (I wish Yusry is reading this..hahaha..) Not bad for a musical. Though I think some of the character is a bit over the top, but then again for musical is always like that right? But in the spirit of supporting Malaysian product, I am willing to bet my money on KRU's stuffs anytime over some Prof's work. Definitely worth it ;)
Some thing happen at work which I think is a miracle. You see, we have this pit stop planned starting yesterday till Wednesday. One of my scope is to do job A. For this job we need item B,C,D and E. We have all of them but quantity is not enough, and the worst part is item E, the main thing is not up to spec. So in order to get E up to spec we have to many things that will delay the work, and most likely not possible to do still. If we live without item E, we will incur loss come Q1 2011. Somehow miracle work its way, and warehouse people found item F, which is up to spec as item E but only smaller size, we decided to proceed with it anyway. Better than nothing. I am really hoping things work out well. Have to spend another night in control room...

Wish me luck!! Daa...

Away

Its dark outside, the weather has not been kind these past few days. And each day I think I am feeling more like the weather, all dark and gloomy. People seemed to shun away from me. I am actually good at driving people away. Not blaming anybody but I noticed that these past few years I drove many people out of my life.

I am the type that won't work hard in a relationship (meaning friends only). I'll initiate a few meet, but after a while when people keep bailing me out, I walked away. I did not tried to mend whatever that needs to be mend. Same at work I guess. People don't tell me stuffs, people did not come and find me to gossip. I'll be the last one to know about anything, promotions, moves, who is dating who etc...
  • friend who is doing Masters passed by a set of questionnaire to the rest of the girls, but not to me
  • my movie buddy no longer ask me to go out for movie with them
I drove people away and darn good at that. So what are you still doing here?

I survived!!

I had serious menstrual pain. For the past 4 months I have been exercising quite regularly, so the pain slowly went away. However during Ramadhan, my exercise routine took a breather. So the effects manifest itself during last weekend. I have to bailed out on 3 open houses and 2 visits, just because it was too painful and uncomfortable to move around. I feel so bad because some that I promised to visit I have not seen them more than 2 years I guess.

Come Monday I thought things will get better, but no.....I have quite a packed schedule, morning we have this 'Turun Padang' with the management, and later in the afternoon a farewell for a colleague, and all of that on top of my normal workload. I went to the meeting and was thinking to bail out on 'Turun Padang' as well. But when I think of it, not worth it, I just have to drag my feet, follow these people go around the plant. I'm glad that I managed to complete the walkabout. Its normal to do a bit climbing here and there during the walk, and somehow it eases the pain...

When I say climb, it is literally climbing...macam ni..
well, this guy is climbing a tank, I was climbing a platform to a column - pics credit to pakcik Google
And to add icing to the cake, a colleague and I last minutely prepared a slide show for the Lab Manager's farewell, just in the nick of time for the dinner....phew.....

Guess its all in a day's work!!

You Better Slow Down

Its been a while since I last shared a poem. This one has been with me since 2005. I printed and pasted on my workstation, even from the old workplace till here.

You Better Slow Down. - author unknown

Have you ever watched kids on a merry go round
or listened to the rain lapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight
or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down, don't dance so fast
Time is short, the music won't last

Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you asked "How are you?"
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done,
Do you lie in your bed,
With the next hundred chores,
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

Ever told a child
We'll do it tomorrow
And in your haste, not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good frienship die
'Cause you never had time
to call and say "Hi"
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

When you run so fast to get somewhere,
You miss half the fun of getting there,
When you worry and hurry through your day,
Its like an unopened gift...
Thrown away...
Life is not a race,
Do take it slower,
Hear the music,
Before the song is over..
