Hidup Huru Hara...and for what?

Assalamual'alaikum w.b.t,

My life has been a complete mess of upside down for the past few weeks. Many reasons but let me just tell you two :)

One, we (the women at work) has been working on converting a cabin from a construction project to a mini library. I was tasked to be head of the furniture team. We started off by having a charity carwash on 9th May whereby the employees are asked to bid for their choice of leadership team members to clean their car. Of course, there were some hesitation at first in getting people to bid, :P but after a bit of persuasion, we managed to get the bid in. It was a success, we managed to raise more than RM 1500 in both bidding and donations.

From that money, off we went to IKEA and of course Jusco to splurge on the bookcases and pillows, the end result..tara...!!!

Seronoknyala boleh summarize 1 month of hardwork to 2 para and 4 pictures (you wish is it that easy..hehehe..) Regardless, we handed over the library to the folks, and PD womens club will follow up to maintain the library.

In the midst of running around organizing stuffs for the library, I was also running around KL-PD almost once every 3 days or so, all because to settle things that leads to me being here. Where? Here, in a soon to be my rice bowl country, insyaAllah. As mentioned before, I received a new job offer, and yes, I am now in Nigeria. I am not starting work yet. I am on my APT (assignment preview trip). Leading to this, I need to get my medical check up done, which leads to multiple types of vaccination, you name it, I would most probably have the shots already, starting from the famous yellow fever vaccine, rabies (3 shots!!) , meningitis, hepatitis and yes I am still due for typhoid once I get back next week. Those shots are all taken in KL and I was scheduled to get it on Wednesday, so yes, KL-PD dah macam Cheras to Times Square dah gayanya...tiring OK!!

What more with the whole visa application, chasing letters from the Hague and all kinds of bureaucratic matters. At last I managed to get my visa on Friday 14th June. Flight confirmed on 15th, what kind of time gap that I have :P and that is not the whole of it, I still need to apply for my actual visa once I got back in KL. This is only a once off business visa for the APT trip only.

Let me just share the legs of travel this far (and I am not even at the final destination yet).
Friday:
2200H : Taxi from flat to LRT Cheras
2220H : LRT Cheras to Tasik Selatan
2240H : ERL from Tasik Selatan to KLIA
2320H : Reached KLIA (I prefer the train from KL Sentral, non stop and only 28 minutes to KLIA)

Saturday:
0330H : KUL-Doha (flight time est 7.5 hrs)
1100H : Reached Doha , 1 hours break before transit
1200H : Doha - Lagos (flight time est 7.5 hrs)
1900H : Reached Lagos (local time around 1400H)

Am staying in for the night. Tomorrow morning (0900H local time) I'll be flying to my final destination, Port Harcourt. It will be a 1 hour flight. And from Monday till Thursday, I'll be meeting my future team mates, bosses and potentially neighbors too..!! Can't wait :)

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh....

Sedar tak sedar lebih sebulan tak update post. Hutang janji manis untuk qada' post 2012 sampai la ni tak tertunai. Nasib baik tak masuk bertanding blog pilihan, kalau tak memang kena ungkit la janji tak ditepati...hehehehe.. :)

So whats up? What has been keeping me busy? Nothing much, but something quite big...hehehe...(kahwin...hhmm... takde rezeki lagi..). I have been successful in my application for a transfer..!! My window was meant to be opened end of year, so I've negotiated with my SV to let me apply as early as start of year. Having bad experience of rejection from last round, I am bracing myself for the same cycle all over again, except that I am more prepared this time.

Come Feb the internal job posting was opened. I've applied for 3 positions in different parts of the world. Staying true to what I have planned, I want to remain in Process Safety, a field that is relatively new, not many experts around. I didn't really place my hope high, but I was scheduled for 2 interviews. One did happened and another one somehow just passed by. The one and only interview was via telecon. First half of the session, the interviewers were selling the location to me...(yes, I was a bit confused then). The second part, I was then grilled on things that I've claimed to have achieved in my resume.

Around two weeks after that, I was asked to attend another interview, more details required on my 'successes' and 'challenges'. The session ends with me feeling a tiny bit of confidence, and not even 10 minutes after that, I was asked to called one of the interviewers back....and Alhamdulillah...!!! He told me, they want to take me in!! (Rasa macam dunia ana yang punya...hehehehe...) I didn't expect it to be that easy, honestly I am not bragging, I think Allah helped me a lot.

So yes, I am planned to move this year insyaAllah, if all goes well. The reason I am telling you today is, finally the official transfer process just started last Friday. Only a handful of people in the company knows, the rest, I'll let the cat out of the bag when the final date is firmed. The whole visa, customs and what nots will take around 4 months, give or take. So yes, tentatively, after raya, I'll be off to a new adventure.

I am moving to a country that is GMT+2. Starts with the alphabet N. And not many Malaysians are heading that way, definitely not a popular tourist spot, and I can say it is among the popular conflict zone. You must think that I am crazy to venture to such places. But hey, I want to experience life, and I think there is no better time than now. (Takkan dah tua-tua dekat nak retire baru nak pi duduk kat conflict zone pulak kan...? cari pasai la tu... :D)

With this move, I definitely limit my chances of getting married. Ni awat dok sembang pasai kawin ni..hehehe... Dah tu dua tiga menjak ni dok layan drama jiwang + novel khayalan agak2 real, mana tak kepikiran terus...

Start dengan apa lagi..Adam dan Hawa, pastu la ni dok layan SSID. Novel ini dibeli selepas menonton satu-dua episod drama-drama itu ye... Yang Suami Aku Ustaz tu beli dari tahun lepas..dok la peram dalam almari. Entah macam mana dah habis dua buku yang dah jadi drama tu, terpanggil nak baca pulak buku yang plastik tak bukak setelah berbulan-bulan jadi hak milik.

Rasanya terakhir baca buku-buku camni zaman sekolah kot, zaman U dah budget omputih, layan Sidney Sheldon & Judith McNaught ja..Lagipun zaman tu novel melayu kebanyakan pakai bahasa bunga-bunga sangat, sampai boleh nampak daun-daun menjalar ke kulit buku. Baca dua muka surat dah tak tahan ngantuk..mana nak habis sebuku.

Adam dan Hawa masih mengekalkan ayat bunga-bunga tu tapi tak teruk sangat, sebab tu boleh habiskan lagi. Itupun pakai teknik speed reading, satu muka ada la 50% ja baca betul, yang lain tu skim through ja. :)
Yang SSID dah ringan sikit bab bunga, gaya bahasa bersahaja, dan lagi cepat jugak aku baca sebab cerita yang sangat lucu. Nak-nak lagi dah start tengok drama, dok la terbayang Tiz (Syaf) ngan Izzue (Firash a.k.a Chad) dalam setiap muka yang aku baca.

Suami Aku Ustaz lagi santai, habis baca dalam 2 hari (ni pencapaian zaman sekolah ok...dah lama tak dapat baca dengan kelajuan yang macam tu..hehehehe..) Jalan cerita dan bahasa yang sangat lucu, nak-nak bila watak utama (Lisa) tu malu sendiri, macam-macam response dia nak cover malu bila muka dah panas :P

Oklah..panjang pulak membebel..nanti sambung lagi (janji manis lagi daaa.....)

Selamat mengundi, saya akan mengundi di P-124 Bandar Tun Razak. Saya undi untuk keamanan, kestabilan dan negara yang aman makmur, bebas dari kemungkinan hutang IMF gara-gara terlampau nak jaga hati rakyat dengan janji manis bulan dan bintang. Peace y' all. ;)

An Epic Journey part 11

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh...

Just a short one today, we continue with another 2 ayat of Surah Yusuf,

Ayat 11,

They said, ‘O our father, why do you not entrust us with Yusuf while indeed, we are to him sincere counsellors?’

The scholars derived five important points from this ayat,

1. Planning must precede action
2. The evils of emotional blackmail and its malicious nature
3. Persistence on specific issue indicates the presence of an ulterior motives.
4. The tongue is a medium of communicating our physical action and our internal desires, both directly and indirectly.
5. Shaytan uses this methodology when attempting to misguide people.

Ayat 12

Send him with us tomorrow that he may eat well and play. And indeed we will be his guardians.

This ayat highlighted the permissibility of play and recreation.
Islam is complete and comprehensive – It addresses every aspect of our lives and our needs, including our need for diversion and recreation, providing for us lawful means to fulfil this need. In the Sunnah, we see the Companions participating in many different forms of lawful entertainment and play. They engaged in sports such as foot-races, horse-racing, wrestling and archery. They also told jokes and engaged in light hearted conversation.

A’isha RA relates about her husband, the prophet SAW: “ I swear by Allah that I saw Allah’s messengers standing at the door of my room while the Abyssinians were engaged in spear play in the mosque of Allah ‘s Messenger. He screened me with his cloak so that I could watch them perform. He stood there for my sake until I decided that I had enough.” Now just imagine how much time a young girl eager for entertainment would stand there watching. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Guidelines to follow when engaging in recreational activities.

1. Our means of recreation and our entertainment must be completely free from anything that is unlawful in Islam.
2. Recreation must never cause us to neglect our obligatory worship and our obedience to Allah
3. Recreation and entertainment must not take up too much of our time. We should not engage in them to the point where it ceases to be beneficial.
4. It must not become a habit to continually seek recreation and diversion.
5. Recreation must not restrain or distract us from activities  that would benefit us in our worldly or spiritual lives.

The art of persuasion is also illustrated in this ayat :

1. To influence anyone to do something you have to build a rapport with them and use language to encourage them to agree with you.
2. This is an important skill to possess when inviting and advising people in the matters related to the deen.

Now which one would you do today? To play or to persuade? :)

Kisah Abu Hurairah dan pencuri

Assalamualaikum w.b.t

Hari ini kita akan menyingkap sebuah kisah sahabat nabi.. (macam intro rancangan adik-adik pulak...hehehe...). Kisah tentang Abu Hurairah RA dengan seorang pencuri. Moga jadi pengajaran untuk kita semua, insya Allah... :D

Abu Hurairah radiallahu’anhu merupakan salah seorang dari sahabat Rasulullah SAW. Pernah suatu waktu, Abu Hurairah bertanggungjawab menjaga gudang yang menyimpan harta dari hasil kutipan zakat. Pada suatu hari, muncul seseorang dan dia mencuri segenggam makanan. Abu Hurairah berjaya menangkap orang itu, lalu mengancam untuk diadukan kepada Rasulullah SAW. Pencuri itu merayu-rayu meminta dilepaskan, dengan alasan keluarganya miskin dan dia amat memerlukan makanan. Oleh kerana kasihan, Abu Hurairah melepaskan pencuri itu dengan syarat dia tidak akan mengulangi perbuatannya.

Setelah itu, Abu Hurairah menceritakan kejadian itu kepada Rasulullah SAW. Selepas mengetahui apa yang terjadi, Rasulullah SAW berkata, “Dia berbohong. Pada waktu malam nanti dia akan datang lagi.”

Oleh kerana Rasulullah telah berkata demikian, Abu Hurairah lebih berhati-hati keesokan malamnya.

Tepat seperti jangkaan Rasulullah SAW, pencuri itu datang lagi dan mengulangi perbuatannya mencuri makanan. Abu Hurairah berjaya menangkap pencuri itu dan mengancam untuk mengadukan kepada Rasulullah SAW. Dan pencuri itu pun sekali lagi meminta ampun : “Saya orang miskin, keluarga saya ramai. Saya berjanji esok tidak akan kembali lagi.” Sekali lagi Abu Hurairah merasa kasihan dan melepaskan pencuri itu.

Diceritakan sekali lagi kepada Rasulullah keesokan harinya. Sekali lagi Rasulullah s.a.w. menegaskan : “Pencuri itu bohong, dan malam nanti dia akan kembali lagi.”

Malam itu Abu Hurairah berjaga-jaga dengan lebih berwaspada. Diperhatikannya dengan teliti setiap gerak-geri disekelilingnya sudah dua kali ia dibohongi oleh pencuri. Jika pencuri itu benar-benar datang seperti diperkatakan oleh Rasulullah s.a.w. dan dia berjaya menangkapnya, ia telah bertekad tidak akan melepaskannya sekali lagi.

Benarlah kata-kata Rasulullah, pencuri itu kembali lagi. Abu Hurairah nekad untuk membawa pencuri itu kepada Rasulullah, tetapi pencuri itu masih memohon untuk dilepaskan.

Melihatkan kesungguhan Abu Hurairah untuk membawanya bertemu Rasulullah SAW, pencuri itu berkata : “Lepaskan saya, saya akan mengajar tuan beberapa kalimah yang sangat berguna.”

“Kalimah-kalimah apakah itu?” Tanya Abu Hurairah dengan rasa ingin tahu.

“Bila tuan hendak tidur, bacalah ayat Kursi : Allaahu laa Ilaaha illaa Huwal-Hayyul Qayyuuumu….. Dan seterusnya sampai akhir ayat. Maka tuan akan selalu dipelihara oleh Allah, dan tidak akan ada syaitan yang berani mendekati tuan sampai pagi.”

Maka pencuri itu pun dilepaskan oleh Abu Hurairah. Dan keesokan harinya, ia kembali menghadap Rasulullah s.a.w. untuk melaporkan pengalamannya yang luar biasa tadi malam. Ada seorang pencuri yang mengajarinya kegunaan ayat Kursi. “Apa yang dilakukan oleh tawananmu semalam?” tanya Rasulullah SAW sebelum Abu Hurairah sempat menceritakan segalanya.

“Dia mengajarku beberapa kalimah yang katanya sangat berguna, lalu ia saya lepaskan,” jawab Abu Hurairah.

“Kalimah apakah itu?” tanya Nabi Muhammad SAW..

Katanya : “Kalau kamu tidur, bacalah ayat Kursi : Allaahu laa Ilaaha illaa Huwal-Hayyul Qayyuuumu….. Dan seterusnya sampai akhir ayat. Dan ia katakan pula : “Jika engkau membaca itu, maka engkau akan selalu dijaga oleh Allah, dan tidak akan didekati syaitan hingga pagi hari.”

Mendengar cerita Abu Hurairah, Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. berkata, “Pencuri itu telah berkata benar, sekalipun sebenarnya dia tetap seorang pendusta.” Kemudian Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. bertanya pula : “Tahukah kamu, siapa sebenarnya pencuri yang bertemu denganmu tiap malam itu?”
“Entahlah.” jawab Abu Hurairah.
“Itulah syaitan.” jawab Nabi Muhammad SAW.

Pengajaran cerita ini:

1.Shaitan akan sentiasa memujuk kita supaya tidak melakukan perkara yang benar. Berbagai cara digunakan untuk memujuk atau menghasut manusia, dalam cerita ini, dia menimbulkan rasa kasihan dalam diri Abu Hurairah. Oleh itu, kita seharusnya tidak takut dalam menegakkan kebenaran walaupun ada orang yang akan sedih atau terluka.

2.Walaupun perkara yang diajar oleh shaitan itu benar, tetapi tujuan ia mengajar adalah untuk melepaskan diri sendiri, bukan untuk berkongsi ilmu.

3.Bacalah ayat kursi sebelum tidur, untuk menghindar dari gangguan shaitan.

Assalamualaikum w.b.t,

Terpanggil sangat nak post pasal ni sebab kat FB dah macam-macam versi dari jurucakap rakyat yang tidak bertauliah, yang share post tanpa sumber yang sah atau yang sengaja nak post one liner so that dapat himpun banyak 'like'. Semuanya mengutuk politician menangguk di air yang keruh..padahal sampai la ni saya tak terbaca kenyataan ahli politik (kerajaan atau pembangkang) yang buat kenyataan yang tidak sesuai. Yang awak tu layak sangat ka buat statement? Polis bukan, tentera bukan, paling habis engineer yang dapat news pon dari FB tercinta awak tu. So stop speculating, pray for the best and quit pointing fingers.

Dengar cerita darurat telah di istiharkan dan curfew di kuatkuasakan di sana. Ini bermakna tentera sudah ambil alih di Lahad Datu atau kawasan pencerobohan sahaja (kawasan yang lebih kecil)

Ianya seperti darurat waktu ribut banjir New Orleans dahulu- tentera USA ambil alih bukan lagi polis tempatan)

Dalam keadaan ini bermakna bukan satu negara Malaysia darurat dan bukanlah bermakna perang kerajaan Malaysia dan Sultan Sulu. Darurat hanya untuk keselamatan sahaja dan LOCAL AREA SAHAJA. Rasanya bukan seluruh Lahad Datu pun. Hanya kawsan pencerobohannya sahaja. Nampak hati-hatinya dan telitinya Kerajaan dalam hal ini? Menurut langkah satu persatu?

Nota Tambahan : Ingat kes al-Maunah dahulu? Mula-mula polis. Kemudian Tentera ambil alih. Dan setelah tentera ambil alih tuduhan kepada Mohd Amin (ketua Almaunah)yang membawa hukuman mati ialah tuduhan mengistiharkan perang kepada YAng Di Pertuan Agung.
Beliau tidak di tuduh sebagai orang awam iaitu tuduhan Membunuh (i.e; Bunuh polis SB tu). Beliau di tuduh combatant Perang.

Persoalan sempadan bolos. Mereka masuk sikit demi sedikit dengan bot pancung dalam kawasan yang mana sempadan adalah kabur dan menjadi tradisi penduduk tempatan berulang alik. Lagi pun kawasannya luas.Tiada ada negara dalam dunia yang tidak di tembusi sempadannya.

Yang sukar sedikit ialah Israel dan Vatican. Israel sebab temboknya dan Vatican City sebab di dindingnya dan juga di kepung oleh bandar Rom. Hatta USA pun sering di cerobohi sempadannya oleh orang Mexico. Negara China yang terkenal dengan Great Wallnya sering di cerobohi orang bangsa Mongolia Nomad atau bangsa padang steppe yang berulang-alik (serupa dengan kes Lahad datu - golongan yang tidak mempunyai sempadan).
